Oil Rig

FAQ

Q. I haven't received a check in a few months. Why not?

A. Revenue distribution checks are cut on or about the 25th of every month. Checks must meet the minimum release requirements as stated on your division order, usually $100. All suspense is released in December each year regardless of the amount.

Q: I have agreed to the terms and conditions of the website but when I log in I cannot find my detail. Why not?

A: If you have royalty interest that is directly deposited to your bank account you should be able to retrieve your check stub through the Interest Owner Relations page. If your distribution is not directly deposited into your bank account you may not be able to retrieve your detail via the site.

Please note: We offer direct deposit into your bank account. Using this service would eliminate the above matter. If you wish to use our direct deposit service you can find the necessary forms and information on the Interest Owner Relations page under the Forms tab.

Q: How do I know if the interest on my division order is correct?

A: Royalty interest is typically 12.5% of the revenue received from oil and gas sales. To calculate your interest you would take your acreage divided by the total acreage in the unit and multiply by 12.5%. The result will be the decimal interest stated on your division order.

(Ex:  You own 5 Acres in a 100 acre lease.   5/100*0.125=.00625)

Q: How do I update my address?

A: In order for us to update an address we need an address change request form completed, signed and returned to our office. You may find this form on the Interest Owner Relations page under the Forms tab.

Q: We bought/sold our property and mineral interest but are not/still receiving the distribution checks. What do we need to do?

A: In order for us to be able to transfer royalty interest we must first be notified. If you buy or sell a property with the minerals attached please notify our office as soon as possible.

Sale: In the case of selling your minerals please notify us with the date of sale and the names of the rightful owners.

Purchase:  When you purchase a property with mineral rights we will need a copy of the deed. This is generally sufficient documentation to make the transfer. If we need more documentation we will contact you, so please included contact information so that we may do so in a timely manner.

All documentation must show the county recorders information.

Q: We transferred our interest to a trust. What documentation is required?

A: If you wish to move your mineral interest to a trust we will need a copy of the trust document and assignments conveying your interest to the trust.

All documentation must show the county recorders information.

Q: My loved one passed away recently and left their mineral interest to me. What documentation do you need to have your records reflect such?

A: In order to transfer interest from a loved one whom has passed away we need a copy of the death certificate, probated will, and transfer order from the court.

All documentation must show the county recorders information.

Q: My spouse passed away and I cannot cash my distribution check(s) because his/her name is still on them. Can you remove their name please and reissue the check(s)?

A: We would need documentation to support this claim. In order to make the change we would need a copy of the death certificate and a copy of the Deed (if the deed is in survivorship form).  If the deed is not in survivorship form please refer to the above answer.

All documentation must show the county recorders information.

Q:  I lost my revenue check; can you stop payment and reissue one to me today?

A:  We understand that on occasion this will happen, if and when it does please give us a call. We will place a stop payment on the check and reissue the funds on the next revenue distribution date. This is usually the 25th of the month.  If this becomes habitual we will begin charging a $25 fee for the cost incurred.

Please note: We offer direct deposit into your bank account. Using this service would eliminate the above matter. If you wish to use our direct deposit service you can find the necessary forms and information on the Interest Owner Relations page under the Forms tab.
